Southern Hemisphere begins Llahuin drilling

Southern Hemisphere Mining (ASX:SUH) has contracted DV Drilling to complete a 2,500m diamond and reverse circulation (RC) program at the Llahuin Copper-Gold-Moly Project in Chile.

The rig has arrived on site and has begun drilling at the Cerro de Oro deposit.

This drilling work will aim to test multiple targets generated from a recent soil geochemistry sampling program and down-dip zones from a previous drill program in the area.

Southern Hemisphere also plans to test the Southern Porphyry copper-gold target during this program.

The company says the first batch of assays is expected to be received in mid-November 2023.

As part of Southern Hemisphere’s work to map and refine drill targets, a recent rock chip sampling program returned multiple ‘significant’ results, including up to 7.28% copper, 18.65g/t gold, and 55g/t silver.

Following this announcement, the $14.76 million market capitalisation company’s share price increased by 4% to close at $0.026 on Wednesday afternoon (18 October).

Southern Hemisphere Mining is a copper-gold-manganese-lithium explorer focused on Chile.

As of 30 June 2023, Southern Hemisphere had $612,000 cash and cash equivalents at hand, according to its latest quarterly report. On 21 August, the company raised $1.09 million via an entitlement offer.
