SIMPEC Tianqi Lithium Lithium Hydroxide processing plant

SIMPEC funded for Tianqi Lithium construction

West Star Industrial’s (ASX:WSI) wholly owned subsidiary SIMPEC has been awarded  $11 million for the delivery of work at the Tianqi Lithium Hydroxide Processing operation in Kwinana, Western Australia.

SIMPEC will begin civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation works, which is expected to be completed in Q1 2026.

This project intends to boost the existing facility’s capacity with updated equipment, supporting continuous plant performance.

Managing Director Mark Dimasi says this contract represents a “significant” step in SIMPEC’s growth strategy.

“It reinforces our reputation as a trusted delivery partner for complex industrial projects and highlights our capability to execute multidisciplinary packages to a high standard,” Dimasi says.

“This award aligns with our strategic objective of supporting Australia’s energy transition while strengthening our presence in the lithium sector.”

Joint venture between Tianqi Lithium (HKG:9696) and IGO (ASX:IGO), Tianqi Lithium Energy Australia (TLEA) is the owner of the Kwinana Lithium-Hydroxide Processing operation.

West Star Industrial is an Australian parent company to SIMPEC, Alltype Engineering, and WATMAR, focused on delivering solutions to industrial projects across a range of sectors including resources and energy.
