Silver Mines extends Bundarra Zone mineralisation with bonanza grades

Silver Mines Limited (ASX: SVL) reports that an ongoing underground resource drilling program at its Bowdens Silver Project in New South Wales has further expanded mineralisation at the Bundarra Zone.

Results include quartz-sulphide-vein-style mineralisation, along with a ‘significant’ copper intersection, which represents a first at the project.

Standout intersections from Bundarra include:

  • Hole BD21042:
    • 2.4m @ 1,520 g/t Ag equivalent (269 g/t Ag, 15.80% Zn, 10.33% Pb, 0.78% Cu and 0.42 g/t Au) from 297.3m; including
      • 1m @ 2,282 g/t Ag equivalent (398 g/t Ag, 22.90% Zn, 16.80% Pb, 1.06% Cu and 0.82 g/t Au) from 298m; and
    • 1.5m @ 869 g/t Ag equivalent (98 g/t Ag, 14.49% Zn, 0.20% Pb, 0.30% Cu, and 0.14 g/t Au) from 327.1m
  • Hole BD21039:
    • 4.6m @ 338 g/t Ag equivalent (24 g/t Ag, 3.67% Zn, 1.47% Pb and 0.98 g/t Au) from 406m; and
    • 8.1m @ 193 g/t Ag equivalent (18 g/t Ag, 1.82% Zn, 1.45% Pb and 0.41 g/t Au) from 416.9m
  • Hole BD21038:
    • 1m @ 740 g/t Ag equivalent (343 g/t Ag, 5.29% Zn and 3.74% Pb) from 107metres; and
    • 6m @ 244 g/t silver equivalent (26 g/t Ag, 2.43% Zn, 2.50% Pb and 0.12 g/t Au) from 374m; including
      • 1m @ 478 g/t Ag equivalent (59 g/t Ag, 3.78% Zn, 6.0% Pb and 0.38 g/t Au).

The company is currently working towards a maiden underground resource at Bowdens, which it hopes will establish the mine as both an open pit and underground operation.

Four drill rigs are currently working on site, targeting ‘high-grade’ veins and feeder zones outside of the current open pit ore reserve in the project’s north, central, and southern regions.

A scoping study is expected to be delivered in the first half of 2022, following the completion of resource drilling.
