Silver Mines (ASX:SVL) has expanded the Southern Gold Zone through exploration drilling and recent assays results at the Bowdens Silver Project, located near Mudgee in New South Wales.
The company reports the footprint of gold mineralisation in the Southern Gold Zone now has more than 450m in strike, 250m width and between 15m to 85m in thickness. The zone is defined from near surface in the south of the project and is currently outside of the planned open-cut pit. An update of open-pit Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) has begun and is scheduled to be completed April 2023. Exploration drilling continues with 2 diamond core rigs onsite.

Recent assay results include hole BD22046 with 384m @ 62g/t silver equivalent (Ag-Eq) (10g/t Ag, 0.61% Zn, 0.39% Pb, and 0.09g/t Au) from 77m, including 7m @ 157g/t Ag-Eq (19g/t Ag, 1.60% Zn, 0.88% Pb, and 0.34g/t Au) from 238m.
Hole BD22044 also intersected 167m @ 73g/t Ag-Eq (11g/t Ag, 0.53% zinc, 0.54% lead, and 0.20g/t Au) from 145m, including 12m @ 189g/t Ag-Eq (30g/t Ag, 1.20% zinc, 1.87% lead, and 0.43g/t Au) from 192m, and 10m @ 170g/t Ag-Eq (20g/t Ag, 1.09% zinc, 0.95% lead, and 0.79g/t Au) from 213m.
Additionally, results have been received from the second round of gold assays on historic drill samples. Results using a 0.2g/t Au cut-off include, BRC17075 with 21m @ 0.89g/t Au from 105m, BRC17076 with 23m @ 0.38g/t Au from 85m, and BRC12081 with 14m @ 0.44g/t Au from 154m.
