Sigma Lithium (NASDAQ:SGML) has exceeded its second quarter production guidance by 6% after producing 35,000 tonnes of lithium concentrate at its Grota do Cirilo Project in Brazil.
The company previously guided for 33,000 tonnes from the operation during the second quarter of 2026.
The production performance follows a comprehensive mining upgrade and primarisation of mining operations.
During the quarter, the company’s Cleantech Industrial Plant achieved 70% lithium recovery from spodumene ore with an approximate 20% yield.
Sigma Lithium also reached full operating run-rate from its expanded mining fleet, supported by an optimised mine plan.
Following the upgrade, Sigma Lithium plans to build a second Cleantech plant within 12 months and potentially a third facility.
The company’s current nameplate capacity sits at 270,000 tonnes of lithium oxide concentrate annually, with phase two and phase three expansions designed to raise capacity to 520,000 tonnes and 770,000 tonnes, respectively.
It expects to release its full Q2 2026 financial and operating results on 14 August 2026.
