OD6 Metals (ASX:OD6) has identified an 8km epithermal alteration system at its Quinn Fluorspar Project, 220km north of Las Vegas in Nevada.
Advanced satellite and airborne hyperspectral analysis results show new, large-scale and high-grade fluorspar mineralisation could exist between Dress Circle and Mammoth.
NASA’s jet propulsion laboratory launched the high-resolution 15 megapixel AVIRIS airborne hyper-spectral system during August 2025.
The system identified pyrophyllite, alunite-dickite-potassium-aluminium sulphate and phyllosilicate minerals, muscovite-illite, and phengite.
These minerals indicate a “strong hydrothermal corridor” that links Horsehoe-North Horseshoe-Jumbo fluorspar occurrences. This indicates a 1.1km-long target corridor with replacement/breccia style mineralisation.
“The scale of the alteration system, over 8km with intense zones of over 1km strike, assists in targeting globally significant fluorspar systems at the Quinn Fluorspar Project,” Managing Director Brett Hazelden says.
“Importantly, this work demonstrates that known high-grade occurrences at Horseshoe and Mammoth are likely part of a much larger, continuous mineralised system.”
OD6 now plans to carry out systematic surface rock chip and channel sampling, and historic assay grade verification. It will also complete detailed geological mapping, structural interpretation, soil geochemistry sampling and initial drill program permit applications.
