West Cobar Metals (ASX:WC1) has received results from a reverse circulation drilling program at the Fraser Range Project, highlighting prospectivity at the Salazar Critical Minerals Project north of Esperance, Western Australia.
Nine holes were drilled for 1,958m and show high rare earths, titanium dioxide, and scandium values in near surface saprolite that confirm the prospectivity of the tenements to build on the resource of the adjoining Salazar Project.
Fraser Range is contiguous with licences of the Salazar Project, including the Newmont and O’Connor deposits.
Assay results include 27m @ 718 parts per million (ppm) total rare earth oxide (TREO) from 27m, including 9m @ 1,037ppm TREO from 45m and 27m @ 102ppm scandium oxide and 2.23% titanium dioxide from 171m.

Managing Director Matt Szwedzicki says the latest drilling program was testing greenfields geophysical targets for copper and gold.
“We did not encounter iron-oxide copper gold or Broken Hill type style mineralisation, however the results have confirmed the exceptional scale potential of the tenements for clay-hosted rare earths, titanium dioxide, and scandium,” Szwedzicki says.
“The Salazar Project, adjoining these tenements, is one of Australia’s premier and largest clay-hosted deposits containing a unique mix of critical minerals vital to the global economy.
“These latest results have vastly expanded the area of interest for high-grade rare earths, scandium, and titanium dioxide.”
