Sabre Resources (ASX:SBR) reports that it has intercepted a broad C3 conductor sulphide target following diamond drilling (DD) activities at its Sherlock Bay Nickel Project in WA’s Pilbara region.
The results, generated by a downhole electromagnetic (DHEM) survey from drillhole SBDD002, representing the second drillhole of an ongoing DD campaign, have confirmed the location of the strong and broad C3 conductor target which was previously identified by drillhole SBDD001.
Results also confirm the presence of a 15m sulphide zone including massive sulphide lenses and matrix sulphide breccia that correlates with the southwestern/lower end of the recently identified C3 Conductor.
Speaking on the results, Sabre CEO Jon Dugdale said: “The intersection of massive sulphide lenses and matrix sulphide breccia at the southwestern end of the C3 Conductor indicates we are on the verge of a massive sulphide discovery at Sherlock Bay.
The sulphide zone is within the basal contact of the Sherlock Intrusive gabbro sill, as targeted, a similar setting to other major nickel sulphide deposits in WA such as Nova-Bollinger.

A third hole has already commenced, testing the centre of the C3 massive sulphide conductor target which has now been detected from both SBDD001 and SBDD002 and is lying just to the east of these holes.
We’re getting closer to the targeted massive sulphide zone with each drillhole and we believe we’ve nailed down its location, having detected the strong C3 conductor in both completed drillholes. We eagerly anticipate the outcome of the third hole of this already very successful drilling program.”
The company also notes that the location of the C3 sulphide conductor target at the base/contact of the Sherlock intrusive gabbro sill shares similar features to other intrusive related nickel sulphide deposits, including Azure Minerals (ASX:AZS) Andover nickel sulphide target.
In addition, it is reported that further disseminated and veinlet sulphides occur within the 15m massive sulphide zone from 397.5m downhole stratigraphically above the contact zone, indicating that the intrusion is sulphur saturated.
A separate semi-massive sulphide zone was also detected close to the eastern contact of the intrusive and boasts a 2.4m shear zone with grades of up to 20% pyrrhotite (Po) chalcopyrite (Cpy) and pentlandite (Pn).

With the current DD campaign still ongoing, Sabre Resources announces that it has moved forward with the third drillhole (SBDD003) to test the centre of the C3 conductor target 40m to 60m to the east of the first two drillholes.
