Sabre Resources (ASX:SBR) has identified large lithium-in-soil anomalies over its extensive Cave Hill Project tenements in the ‘highly prospective’ Eastern Goldfields lithium province of Western Australia. The three in-soil anomalies have been found south and along strike of the Kangaroo Hills lithium discovery of Future Battery Metals Ltd (ASX:FBM), which has produced lithium (spodumene) intersections of up to 29m @ 1.36% Li2O2.
Sabre CEO Jon Dugdale tells Mining.com.au the company is checking the low levels of lithium that appear to be leaking to the surface, with only a third of the scheduled program completed. He says the identification of these anomalies in soil-covered areas is ‘very encouraging’ and shows that this newly identified greenstone corridor has the potential to host major lithium deposits.
“We can see them in the magnetics but they are covered by soil cover.”
Further sampling is in progress over the largest tenement, which is interpreted to contain the thickest greenstone sequences — which are associated with lithium-bearing pegmatites in the region.
