Rubix' Qld zinc-lead project

Rubix Resources to launch imminent drilling program at Paperback Project in Queensland

Rubix Resources (ASX:RB6) reports it is poised to launch a drilling campaign this month at its Paperback Project in northwest Queensland.

The project, the company reports, is known to contain stratiform, epigenetic-style lead-zinc (Pb-Zn) mineralisation and is highly  prospective for copper (Cu).

Rubix said the drilling campaign, consisting of reverse circulation (RC) and diamond (DD) drillholes for a total of 2,000m, will begin with a goal of following up on identified prospective targets within the project area.

The key targets include an unexplained, 900m-long ‘high-grade’ surface copper mineralisation at the Grunter North deposit, a cryptic conductivity anomaly within the Triangle deposit and the southern and eastern extension of the JB Zone Pb-Zn mineralisation.

The company also notes that samples taken from previous exploration at Grunter North returned ‘high-grade’ copper mineralisation up to 42.7%, highlighting the potential of the deposit area.

The Paperback Project is located about 215km north-northwest of Mount Isa in northwest Queensland and covers a total land tenure of 75km-square across one exploration permit, with Rubix owning 100% of the tenement.

The project contains several prospective targets for Zn-Pb and Cu mineralisation and encompasses the same geology that hosts the Century, Mount Isa, George Fisher and MacArthur River giant Zn-Pb deposits.

With drilling expected to commence this month, Rubix reports that it will release further information as drilling progresses.

Rubix has a diversified base metal and gold asset portfolio providing opportunities for new discoveries in proven districts. The company’s assets comprise 12 exploration licenses across five projects located in Northern Queensland and Western Australia.
