Rox receives final approval as Youanmi construction begins

Rox Resources (ASX:RXL) has received works approval for its Youanmi Gold Mine in Western Australia, as engineering, procurement, and construction contractor Interquip begins work on the processing plant.

The approval covers the processing plant, tailings storage facility, wastewater treatment facility, power station, and associated infrastructure at its wholly owned project.

Rox says the approval is the final major environmental approval required for the project and allows it to proceed with its mine development plans.

This comes off the back of yet another important month for Rox as we continue to deliver significant milestones at Youanmi, headlined by mill construction and our final planned decline getting underway, CEO Phil Wilding says.

Interquip has mobilised to site and commenced construction of the processing plant, which is designed with a nameplate capacity of 1 million tonnes (Mt) per annum.

Rox says mill components are being manufactured on or ahead of schedule, with foundation concrete pouring expected to begin over the coming month. Steel for the first carbon-in-leach tank is also scheduled for delivery, while clearing works have begun for the tailings storage facility.

Underground development is continuing at the historic Youanmi decline, where stripping activities are underway to accommodate modern mining equipment. Development has also commenced at the Pollard decline, the third planned decline for the operation, with the Youanmi and Pollard declines advancing a combined 92m during June.

At the United North underground section, Rox reports development advanced 339m during June using a single development jumbo, which the company says exceeds the rates outlined in the Definitive Feasibility Study.

Ore drive development is underway across multiple fronts as the company builds a run-of-mine ore stockpile for plant commissioning, targeting about 190,000 tonnes grading approximately 3.30 grams per tonne gold (Au).

Diamond drilling also began at United North in mid-June 2026, initially focusing on infill drilling to improve geological confidence and support ore drive development. Initial samples are awaiting assay results.

The company held a cash balance of $152.7 million at 30 June 2026, down $47.7 million from 31 March as mining and construction activities increased. Rox also has access to $350 million in debt facilities, which it expects to begin drawing in the second half of 2026.

Rox is also finalising contracts for power supply and oxygen supply, with preferred suppliers selected and early works agreements in place.

The Youanmi Gold Project hosts a mineral resource of 12.1Mt @ 5.60g/t Au for 2.2 million ounces.
