Rio Grande Resources Winston Project in New Mexico, US

Rio Grande’s golden results flow from Winston

Rio Grande Resources (CSE:RGR) has returned ‘high-grade’ gold and silver results from surface sampling at its Winston Gold-Silver Project in New Mexico, US.

Channel samples from the Poverty Creek area graded up to 46.3 grams per tonne gold (Au) and 1,030g/t silver (Ag).

Phase two surface sampling and structural mapping program, completed by Dahrouge Geological Consulting, included detailed structural mapping and systematic channel and rock chip sampling over priority target areas during May 2026.

Channel sampling of exposed quartz veins returned the ‘highest grades’, including 46.3g/t Au and 1,030g/t Ag from Channel D, 15.7g/t Au from Channel D2, and 5.93g/t Au and 190g/t Ag from Channel C.

Grab samples returned up to 67.1g/t Au, while rock chip samples graded up to 26.1g/t Au and 348g/t Ag.

The results defined multiple northeast-, southeast-, and southwest-trending mineralised structural corridors across the Poverty Creek target area.

Integration of the 2025 and 2026 sampling programs refined the company’s understanding of the orientation, geometry, and continuity of the interpreted vein systems.

“One of the most important outcomes of this program wasn’t simply the high-grade results, it was the ability to trace multiple mineralised vein systems across Poverty Creek,” CEO Jason Barnard says.

“By integrating detailed structural mapping with systematic sampling, we’ve significantly improved our understanding of the orientation and continuity of these vein corridors, providing greater confidence as we advance into our inaugural drill program.”

The company is finalising remaining drill locations for its inaugural phase one drill program, with several initial drill pad locations now established.

Winston represents the first drill program the project has seen in decades.

Rio Grande Resources is a Canadian mineral exploration company focused on advancing its 100%-owned Winston Gold-Silver Project in New Mexico’s Black Range.
