Brazilian Critical field trials generates rare earths

Brazilian Critical Minerals (ASX:BCM) has successfully generated a mixed rare earth carbonate (MREC) product from field trial solution received from the in-situ recovery (ISR) trials completed at the Ema Project in Brazil.

The solution was sent to the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO), where testwork produced a high grade, export quality MREC. The testwork validates the viability of the in-situ processing trials, producing 52.5% total rare earth oxides (TREO) of MREC, with 41.5% represented as magnet rare earth oxides (MREO).

Managing Director Andrew Reid says that the company has “set the standard” for ionic rare earth products, making the project one of few globally with the capacity to produce products with 41.5% MREO.

“These results are a key component in validating project economics and future cashflows for our Bankable Feasibility Study as it is being completed in parallel with the key phases of project permitting and offtake discussions,” Reid says.

“BCM has had an extremely productive and successful 2025 achieving multiple major technical milestones and we are now primed to leverage this success as we move through major change catalysts in 2026 to project financing.”

Brazilian Critical Minerals highlights that the MREC was produced without the use of complex flotation or hydrometallurgical processing, which reduces the overall capital expenditure, as compared to other rare earth projects.

Brazilian Critical Minerals is an exploration company with a focus on rare earth projects in Brazil.
