Provenance Gold eyes ‘major’ new Eldorado West target

Provenance Gold (CSE:PAU) has expanded the potential scale and scope of gold mineralisation at the Eldorado West target area, after receiving initial results from a drilling program within the Eldorado Project in the US.

A core rig has arrived onsite and begun drilling hole EC04, located in the Herman target. Core drillholes are targeting the expansion of known mineralisation and provide critical insights about the structural and geological controls on the system.

The drilling program coincides with additional works where detailed geological mapping of the southern part of the Eldorado West deposit is also being undertaken to prepare for permitting drill pads over 2-3km for a 2026 campaign.

“I believe we are only exploring a fraction of a very large gold system,” CEO Rauno Perttu says.

At Herman, the first step-out drill results have identified a new mineralised contact zone between the host sedimentary rocks and the diorite.

Provenance Gold says the geometry creates a new broad exploration target that has potential to host bulk-tonnage and high-grade gold mineralisation across a large area of the previously unexplored, southern and western portions of Eldorado.

Some of the latest results include 44.2m @ 1.25 grams per tonne gold, including 1.52m @ 10.16g/t gold; and 108.2m @ 1.01g/t gold, including 15.24m @ 1.75g/t gold.

Perttu says the company is confirming a broader target at Herman that looks to substantially increase the mineralised footprint of the Eldorado Project.

“The extensive volume of gold mineralisation above this contact zone combined with strong grades in the contact zone and within the metasedimentary rocks, points to a much larger mineralised system than previously recognised,” Perttu says.

“We are excited to receive further assays from ongoing drilling, including hole ED29 extending to the southwest in the Herman area that showed strong visual mineralisation, supporting our data and our belief that mineralisation continues southward and is open in all directions at Eldorado West.”

The Eldorado Project, located 60km northwest of Vale in Malheur County, Oregon, US, hosts a historical estimate of 1.98 million ounces @ 0.753g/t gold.
