Prodigy Gold (ASX:PRX) remains steadfast in its pursuit of exploration success on the company’s Tanami North project area in the short-term to better understand its potential.
Speaking to Mining.com.au ahead of his presentation on day 3 of the RIU Sydney Resources Round-up on 11 May 2023, Managing Director Mark Edwards says he will outline to the RIU audience how Prodigy is seeking to replicate the Central Tanami Project JV success at Groundrush, which is very close by.
“The main theme I’ll be presenting about is to let investors know we are about to restart our exploration activities after a long wet season. Final public access road just reopened so we can now look to get rig out to site soon. Also, I’ll talk through our strategy to focus on the Tanami North project.”

Edwards tells this news service that it’s extremely important to communicate the company’s objectives and growth strategy to its east coast followers and investors.
“While in the past Prodigy has been based in WA we do have a lot of support over here. RIU conferences have been good for Prodigy Gold over the years and we have had great support from the organizers for conference like this one and the one in Fremantle. So, a bit of both meeting institutions and investors both existing and future, or generate some,” he adds.
Recently, Prodigy Gold released a maiden mineral resource for the Tregony deposit, which is located within the Tanami North project area. Tregony lays between the Groundrush deposit in the south and the Crusade deposit in the north – both under the control of the Central Tanami Project Joint Venture between Northern Star Resources (ASX:NST) and Tanami Gold (ASX:TAM).
The company is taking a very modern and technical approach to analysing prospectivity of the Tanami region. So far, this approach has highlighted potential for the next discovery to be made in the NT with the Tanami North Project area, including the Tregony, Hyperion, and Boco deposits.
Edwards tells this news service, while this part of the Granites Tanami Orogen (GTO) in Australia is a significant gold-producing province, to date there has been no significant exploration work completed.
