Power Nickel (TSX-V:PNPN) expects there to be additional targets along the trend between the Nisk Project and the Lion Zone discovery in Québec, Canada.
Vice President of Exploration Joe Campbell says if there are more targets along the trend, it will provide further drill targets for the Canadian winter 2025 program.
This news comes after five drillhole results from the 2024 Canadian fall campaign were returned, which were testing multiple targets in the Lion zone area.
Power Nickel says the Lion Zone continues to provide “excellent” intersections and grades, conforming to interpreted geological modelling, as well as extending the mineralised area of copper, gold, silver, and platinum group metals within the area.
“Borehole electromagnetic has become a primary tool for discovery,” Campbell says.
“Predicting the location of the Lion East discovery was a true acid test of the method, identified conductors have a very good chance to be sulphides and we are excited to test the partial offhole conductor found in drillhole PN-24-088 and to begin testing holes PN-24-082 to 085.”
The company notes a partial borehole electromagnetic survey was re-evaluated which indicated a potential offhole anomaly. This anomaly will be tested in the coming weeks.
Power Nickel notes it is not known what causes this anomaly, but based on previous experience at Lion there is reasonable expectation that a sulphide concentration is causing the conductor.
