Brixton Metals (TSX-V:BBB) has discovered a new copper-gold porphyry system at the Catalyst target within its Thorn Project in British Columbia, Canada, after conducting a maiden drilling program.
The latest results returned broad copper-gold mineralisation confirming the presence of a large hydrothermal system with porphyry-style alterations and mineralisation.
CEO Gary Thompson says this new copper-gold porphyry discovery is a step forward for the Thorn Project.
“Importantly, we have mineralisation from surface combined with a large geochemical and geophysical footprint with Maricunga-style veins is highly encouraging,” Thompson says.
“There are clear signs of a fertile multi-phase porphyry system at Catalyst. This new discovery opens up the potential within the emerging 8km to 10km Camp Creek Corridor.”
Further drilling is being planned at Catalyst next season to define the extent of copper-gold mineralisation.
Some of the results include 424m @ 0.30% copper-equivalent, including 26m @ 0.50% copper-equivalent from 31m, including 98.5m @ 0.50% copper-equivalent from 92.5m.
The Thorn Project, covering 2,945km2, hosts a district-scale volcano-plutonic complex with several styles of mineralisation related to porphyry and epithermal environments.
