Platina Resources (ASX:PGM) has commenced phase three aircore drilling at high priority targets at the Mt McKenna Gold Project in Western Australia.
This program comprises up to 9,000m of aircore drilling, targeting structures and anomalies that were previously identified with geological mapping, geophysical interpretation, and ground gravity surveys.
Platina has a total planned program for 2026 covering 20,000m of both aircore and reverse circulation drilling across Mt McKenna, Sunrise Bore, and Mt Morgans South, all located in the Laverton Gold District.
Phase three also includes around 3,000m of drilling at Target 2, work that was deferred from the Phase two campaign in February due to ground conditions and drill rig mechanical issues.
Managing Director Corey Nolan says that Platina has already completed the necessary cultural heritage clearance work to advance further drilling.
“Our technical team are particularly encouraged by the scale and number of newly identified structures across Targets 3, 4, and 5, which will now be systematically tested through this program,” Nolan says.
“Targets defined from this phase of aircore drilling will be prioritised for follow-up with deeper reverse circulation drilling in the coming months.”
Platina is an Australian company focused on advancing early-stage metals projects through exploration, feasibility, and permitting, and toward development.
