Pioneer reels in technical support for Springfield

Pioneer Minerals (ASX:PMM) has engaged skarn geology expert Larry Meinert to assist with technical support for the Springfield tungsten-gold prospect within the North Pine Project in Idaho, US.

Meinert is described as a skarn mineralisation and magmatic-hydrothermal system expert, studying major deposits across the world and working on both brownfield and greenfield projects.

CEO Michael Beven says the company is pleased to have Meinert on board to provide “specialist skarn geology input at Springfield”.

“Larry’s depth of global experience in skarn systems brings world class scientific expertise to our geological work and complements the technical studies already completed by Pioneer and its consultants, including the geophysical interpretation work undertaken by Nick Direen,” Beven says.

“The integration of geological and geophysical expertise positions Pioneer strongly as we work to unlock the full potential of the Springfield tungsten gold prospect.

“Importantly, having the world’s foremost skarn expert as an advisor will help our team refine our geological approach, targeting strategy and interpretation of alteration and mineralisation styles.

“This strengthens our ability to rapidly identify vectors toward higher-grade zones and prioritise follow-up work.”

Pioneer is focused on its next phase of exploration at Springfield, which Meinert will assist. The company will conduct ground-truthing programs on the interpreted magnetic anomaly identified in the recent geophysical interpretation completed

Geophysical programs were conducted by Nick Direen from MITRE Geophysics to assess the extent and style of skarn alteration and mineralisation, while also uncovering potential skarn development beyond current zones.
