Pilbara Gold (ASX:PGL) has extended gold mineralisation below the current pit shell at its Mt York Gold Project in Western Australia, with drilling returning significant intercepts at both Main Hill and Gossan Hill.
The company intersected 94m @ 0.88 grams per tonne gold (Au) from 275m at Main Hill, including 57m @ 1g/t Au and 9m @ 2.45g/t Au in hole 26MYDD022. The same hole also returned 6m @ 3.19g/t Au from 225m, including 3m @ 5.56g/t Au.
At Gossan Hill, drilling returned 21m @ 1.42g/t Au from 228m, including 7m @ 3.54g/t Au in hole 26MYDD008.
“Initial results confirm that gold mineralisation extends below Main Hill with a bumper drill hit that has returned 94m of continuous mineralisation (80m true width),” Managing Director Dr Peter Turner says.
“This is the first set of results from PGL’s 2026 drilling campaign and with five rigs turning and a sixth rig arriving within a week, we are confident in delivering a steady flow of results to the market in the months ahead.”
Hole 26MYDD022 intercepted mineralisation 100m below previous drilling. The intercept confirmed the orebody continues well below existing drilling and largely outside the current resource model.
The drilling forms part of a 50,000m program targeting extensions at depth along the 4.2km Banded Iron Formation host rock.
At Gossan Hill, hole 26MYDD008 extended mineralisation deeper in the system as part of a broader mineralised halo of 45m @ 0.75g/t Au from 225m.
PGL has completed 12,139m of its 50,000m drilling program to date, with five rigs operating on site and a sixth due by end of July. Current drilling focuses at Main Hill and Main Hill Extension, where mineralisation remains open at depth.
Pilbara Gold is a Western Australian gold explorer advancing the Mt York Gold Project in the Pilbara, with a 50,000m drilling program underway.
