Perenti subsidiary Barminco signs 9-month extension for IGO’s Flying Fox Mine contract

Diversified mining services group Perenti (ASX:PRN) reports its subsidiary Barminco has secured a 9-month contract extension for IGO’s (ASX:IGO) Flying Fox Mine, located in Western Australia.

The company reports the contract extension is effective as of 1 January 2023 and has a value of about $30 million over the 9-month term. Additionally, the contract extension will see Barminco continuing to provide all underground drilling, development, and mining activities at Flying Fox.

Commenting on the contract extension, Perenti Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director, Mark Norwell says: “In Australia, the labour market is still tight and inflation and cost escalation remains stubbornly persistent, however strong and collaborative working relationships, like the relationship between IGO and Barminco, are key to the success of our business, as well as the success of our clients.”
