Patriot Battery Metals (ASX:PMT) has appointed industry veteran Greg Barfoot to its team as Vice President, Project Development.
The company says Barfoot is an experienced project management professional with an ‘extensive’ international background in all phases of project development from concept to operations. His expertise include management of diverse projects of up to $6.5 billion in total invested capital across a variety of commodities, locations, and technical challenges.
Patriot notes the decision to bring Barfoot aboard comes at a time in which it is heading down the development pathway for its CV5 Project in Canada.
Patriot reports over the past 25 years, Barfoot has held senior project development roles with BHP (ASX:BHP), Canadian engineering company SNC Lavalin (TSE:SNC), and Fluor (NYSE:FLR), and he has most most recently spent 8 years in Canada managing the infrastructure development for the BHP Jansen Potash Mine in Saskatchewan.
Barfoot’s prior experience includes 5-years based in South America with SNC-Lavalin and 12 years with Fluor on projects located across Canada, Australia, and the US.
Patriot also notes Barfoot holds a Master of Business Administration from Curtin University, Perth, a Master of Engineering (Mechanical) from the University of Newcastle, and a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) from the University of Technology Sydney.

Patriot Battery Metals is an ASX-listed hard-rock lithium exploration company focused on advancing its district-scale, wholly owned Corvette Property in the Eeyou Istchee James Bay region of Quebec, Canada.
The company says project represents one of the largest and highest-grade hard rock lithium projects being explored, with a 50km of strike length over a 214km-square land package and more than 70 lithium-bearing pegmatite outcrops identified to date.
Additionally, the project is situated proximal to the all-weather Trans Taiga Road and Hydro-Quebec power line infrastructure in the region and is host to ‘significant’ lithium potential highlighted by the CV5 pegmatite.
