Palisades Goldcorp (TSX-V:PALI) has bolstered its board with the appointment of US Army veteran Douglas Macgregor.
Macgregor joins the company as a decorated combat veteran and military strategist with 28 years of service with the US Army. During his time there, he played a leading role in the Battle of 73 Easting during the Gulf War, earning the Bronze Star with ‘V’ for valour. He retired as a colonel in 2004.
Macgregor is also the author of five books, holds a PhD in international relations, and was a former Senior Advisor to the US Secretary of Defense.
The appointment, says Palisades, reflects the company’s commitment to assembling a world-class board with deep expertise in geopolitics, natural resource security, and the global forces reshaping demand for commodities.
“Doug brings a perspective that very few people in the world can offer — a career spent at the highest levels of military strategy and geopolitical analysis, combined with a deep understanding of how global power dynamics translate into real-world demand for critical resources,” Collin Kettell, founder and CEO of Palisades, says.
“I have spent my career studying the intersection of military power, geopolitical risk, and the resource competition that underlies both,” Macgregor says, speaking on his appointment.
“The coming decade will be defined by nations scrambling to secure access to the metals and minerals that power modern economies and defence capabilities.
“Palisades has assembled one of the most thoughtfully constructed junior resource portfolios I have encountered, with a structure specifically designed to deliver maximum upside to exactly the kind of commodity supercycle I believe we are entering.”
Macgregor becomes the fourth member of the Palisades board, joining Ketell, who serves as its Chairman, alongside Silver Bullion founder Gregor Gregersen and former Farris LLP partner Elizabeth (Betty) Harrison.
Palisades Goldcorp is a Canadian resource investment company and merchant bank focused on junior mining and exploration, while also advancing its own portfolio of projects.
