Pacgold expands management team

Pacgold (ASX:PGO) has expanded its management team with the appointment of Mike Nelson in the new position of Consulting Project Director as the company recommences activities at its recently acquired White Dam Gold Operation in South Australia.

Nelson has accumulated more than 30 years of experience in mineral processing operations and project leadership for precious and base metals-focused projects.

He has played key roles at developments such as Barrick Mining’s (TSX:ABX) Reko Diq Copper-Gold Project in Pakistan, and Teck Resources’ (TSX:TECK.A) Quebrada Blanca Phase II Copper Project in Chile.

He recently led the reshaping of the process flowsheet and development strategy at the Gonneville Project for Chalice Mining (ASX:CHN).

Nelson is currently a non-executive director of Toubani Resources (ASX:TRE), holding a Bachelor of Science with honours and a Master of Applied Finance.

Managing Director Matthew Boyes says Nelson’s appointment comes right as the company prepares to restart gold production at White Dam.

“His extensive operational experience and proven leadership in gold processing and project execution combined with an experienced heap leach team will be invaluable as we transition into a producer and deliver on our growth strategy,” Boyes says.

“The company’s recently completed capital raise now puts us in a position to develop the existing mine and restart production without further dilution to our shareholders and with significant upside potential, I am really looking forward to seeing that first production milestone achieved in what is an historic moment in the gold market.”

As reported by Mining.com.au, Pacgold recently secured a $13 million placement to fund both the acquisition of the project, as well as the restart of operations.

Pacgold will be attending this year’s Noosa Mining Investor Conference, held between 12-14 November 2025, at the Peppers Noosa Resort. Mining.com.au is a media partner for this year’s event.
