OzAurum Resources Ltd (ASX: OZM) reports that it has intersected visible gold from the maiden RC drilling program at its Patricia Gold Project north east of Kalgoorlie.
The 28 hole drill program has so far seen 24 holes completed for a total of 4,203m, with visible gold intersected in two holes.
“For Patricia RC drilling to intersect visible gold in two RC holes is a great result and validates the high grade potential of the Patricia Gold Project”
Maiden RC drilling program
The drilling program is the first at the Patricia Gold Project in over 30 years, with the goal of targeting high-grade mineralisation directly below the existing open pit. Two of 24 holes were abandoned due to unfavourable ground conditions.
OZM reports that drilling is operating on a 3-week-on 3-week-off schedule due to laboratory turnaround time slowing to 10 weeks.
The Patricia Gold Project
Mining was undertaken at the Patricia Project in 1935, with the campaign producing 5,400 ounces at an average grade of 41 g/t Au. More recent production during the 1980’s produced further high-grade results.
Mineralisation is open at depth and along strike, and OZM has stated that it plans to extend and upgrade the current resource to JORC 2012 standard.
Management comments
