Ore Resources explores lithium drilling at Kangaroo Hills

Ore Resources (ASX:OR3) has commenced a 3,000m reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at its Coolgardie lithium projects in Western Australia’s Goldfields region.

The program targets extensions at the Big Red and Potoroo pegmatites within the Kangaroo Hills Lithium Project.

These extensions build on results from May 2026 drilling that returned intercepts. Intercepts include 34m @ 1.11% lithium oxide (Li2O) from 77m, including 14m @ 1.63% Li2O from 96m.

Ore Resources also plans first-pass drilling at the neighbouring Miriam Lithium Project, which has not seen any previous lithium-targeted drilling.

“At Potoroo, follow-up drilling has been designed to assess the continuity and extent of mineralisation along its north-south strike,” CEO Nick Rathjen says.

“We continue to evaluate its potential to form part of a regional-scale pegmatite system within the Kangaroo Hills tenure.”

The May 2026 program at Kangaroo Hills delivered multiple intercepts at Big Red, including 18m @ 1.03% Li2O from 103m, incorporating 10m @ 1.49% Li2O; and 28m @ 0.89% Li2O from 68m, including 12m @ 1.01% Li2O from 82m.

Extension drilling at Big Red returned 12m @ 1.05% Li2O from 147m, while Potoroo infill drilling intersected 11m @ 1.05% Li2O from 111m and 5m @ 1.09% Li2O from 158m.

At Miriam, soil sampling has defined large-scale lithium targets grading up to 1.85% Li2O, including a 1.6km primary trend and a linked 600m secondary trend.

A detailed review of magnetic geophysics identified 13 discrete outcropping pegmatites across an area approximately 6.0km by 1.5km.

“While exploration remains at an early stage, these results highlight a compelling greenfields exploration opportunity with significant discovery potential,” Rathjen mentions.

OR3 expects assay results from the RC program in late August 2026. A concurrent lithium diamond drilling program at Kangaroo Hills is nearing completion. Meanwhile, the company is progressively submitting samples for assay, with results expected from mid-August 2026.

Ore Resources is a Western Australian lithium and gold explorer advancing the Coolgardie Lithium Projects and the Kal East Gold Project.
