Ore Resources (ASX:OR3) has executed a project agreement with the Marlinyu Ghoorlie Native Title Applicants for its Coolgardie gold and lithium projects portfolio located in Western Australia.
Marlinyu Ghoorlie Native Title Applicants are acting on behalf of the Marlinyu Ghoorlie People, who are the traditional owners of the land where the portfolio is located.
The agreement will allow the granting of mining leases, which will aid the development focus at the Kangaroo Hills Project, while also delivering immediate benefits to Marlinyu Ghoorlie.
Ore is also focused on the benefits for future mine development across its Coolgardie projects, which includes the Miriam, Kangaroo Hills, Burbanks East, and Nepean South projects.
CEO Nick Rathjen says the agreement will allow a partnership to advance and target development at the Coolgardie gold and lithium projects.
“The project agreement builds on the strong existing relationship between the parties to allow progression of the Coolgardie projects in a manner that carefully manages the cultural values and heritage of the area,” Rathjen says.
“Importantly, the project agreement paves the way for future mining licence grants on our Coolgardie projects tenure.
“Also noteworthy is that it provides for any future Ore tenure acquisitions within 5km of our existing Coolgardie footprint to be covered within the project agreement.”
