Orange Minerals (ASX:OMX) announces that it has completed a phase two diamond drilling (DD) program at its Calarie Gold Project in New South Wales.
The DD program, comprising 5 drillholes for a total of 1,170m, was conducted to test the mineralised horizon at depth below the historical workings and to validate two historical reverse circulation (RC) holes that intersected and stopped in mineralisation.
It is reported all drillholes intersected the sheared steeply dipping mineralised contact between sediments and Daroobalgie volcanics, which is associated with quartz veining and brecciation, as well as strong sericite/carbonate alteration.

Addressing the drilling program, Orange Managing Director David Greenwood said: “The phase two drill program at Calarie was executed efficiently and timeously and credit is due to all parties involved.

All samples will soon be dispatched to the laboratory, and we very much look forward to receiving the assays, with first results expected to be received in October 2022.”
The company also notes that the deeper holes confirm that gold mineralisation at the project extends to depth and is open along strike.
Orange Minerals is an exploration company with 100% controlled Australian-based projects in the Lachlan Fold Belt of New South Wales and Western Australia’s Eastern Goldfields region. The Calarie Gold Project is located in New South Wale’s Lachlan Fold Belt and comprises two exploration licences that form a 70% earn-in joint venture (JV) with Godolphin Resources (ASX:GRL) and has historically produced about 39,000oz at 22g/t Au from 1896 to 1908.
With the phase two DD program now complete, Orange Minerals announces that it intends to undertake a resource review at Calarie once all assays from the recent drilling campaign are returned.
Assays are expected in October 2022.
