Olympio Metals (ASX:OLY) has received approvals to begin a maiden drilling program at the Dasserat porphyry gold-copper and Chevrier copper sulphide targets within the Dufay Project in Québec, Canada.
At Dasserat, seven holes for 1,200m of diamond drilling will be undertaken to test the coincident induced polarisation and electromagnetic anomalies.
Meanwhile, at Chevrier, four holes for 450m will be drilled to test the copper sulphide vein system.
Managing Director Sean Delaney says a recent electromagnetic survey confirmed and refined Dasserat.
“We are looking forward to drilling this large, shallow porphyry gold-copper target which is over 1,200m in length,” Delaney says.
“The geological setting is very similar to the nearby Galloway gold-copper resource, yet it has never been drilled.
“Drill tracks are currently being cut, and the drillers are ready to mobilise. Explo Logik has done a great job handling the permitting process and all the necessary approvals are in place now.”
The Dufay Project is located proximal to the Cadillac Break, a terrane bounding structure associated with endowments of gold and copper mineralisation.
