Olympio Metals (ASX:OLY) intends to extend exploration at the group’s Amadee prospect further east and west towards the Paquin prospect, after receiving results from eight holes drilled within the Bousquet Project in Canada.
Multiple near-surface intercepts of gold mineralisation include 4.50m @ 3.29 grams per tonne gold, including 0.50m @ 24.5g/t gold; and 6.85m @ 1.11g/t gold.
First phase of drilling at Amadee confirmed a more than 40m zone of gold mineralisation has been defined over a more than 200m strike length.
To date, drilling reveals a wide envelope of gold mineralisation. Olympio says the broad, shallow nature of the gold mineralisation is potentially suited to open-pit mining development with underutilised processing facilities in the area.
Managing Director Sean Delaney says the gold identified confirms that Amadee and Paquin are contained within the same large, strike-extensive gold mineralised structure that remains very under-explored along strike.
“The mineralisation styles and geochemical characteristics are very similar at Amadee and Paquin, with numerous high-grade mineralised quartz veins within zones up to 40m wide,” Delaney says.
Olympio has also reviewed historical data which further supports the potential structural continuity between both prospects.
The company has an option to acquire up to 80% of the Bousquet Project, which is an advanced gold asset located on the Cadillac-Lake Larder Fault Zone, known as the Cadillac Break in Québec, Canada.
