Olympio Metals (ASX:OLY) Managing Director Sean Delaney says the company is confident in its drilling strategy to upgrade the scale of the Decoeur prospect within the Bousquet Gold Project in Canada.
As such, the first two drillholes at Decoeur have extended gold mineralisation at depth and along strike.
“Hole BO-25-39 has significantly extended the Decoeur gold mineralisation to the east near surface and supports our interpretation the North Bousquet Fault is a fundamental regional structure with previously unrecognised prospectivity for gold mineralisation,” Delaney says.
Delaney adds hole BO-25-40 has also confirmed a previously unrecognised geological interpretation, returning an intercept of 14.50m @ 1.96 grams per tonne gold from 355.50m.
Further drilling intends to focus on testing for shallow gold mineralisation and north trending structures.
The north-trending mineralised structures are considered poorly defined by historical drilling and are considered a priority target for future drilling at the prospect.
To date, 12 holes have been drilled and assayed across three prospects at Bousquet. All of the holes have intersected gold mineralisation.
The drilling program remains ongoing, with assay results continuing to be rolled out over the next two months.
Bousquet, located on the Cadillac Break in Québec, Canada, is a strategic land acquisition for Olympio as it has an option to acquire 80% in the project. The project comprises several advanced prospects and numerous structural and geophysical targets that remain untested by drilling or modern exploration.
Olympio Metals is an Australian explorer focused on discovering and developing critical minerals projects.
