Olympio Metals (ASX:OLY) has received approvals to conduct a drilling program, scheduled to begin this month, at the Bousquet Gold Project in Québec, Canada.
The program, comprising 28 drilholes for 10,000m of drilling, will test several high-priority gold targets across the project. The program will focus on the Paquin, Decoeur and Decoeur Extension prospects.
Phase one will comprise 2,000m of diamond drilling, with the drill core being oriented in order to provide valuable structural data. Meanwhile, phase two will be planned based on the results from phase one.
Preparations are already underway with the company’s Canadian exploration contractor Explo-Logik, with the rig mobilising to site as soon as possible.
Once the program is completed, the first batch of assay results are expected within five to six weeks.
Managing Director Sean Delaney says the company is planning this program to follow-up on the “exciting” results from previous explorers such as 9m @ 16.96 grams per tonne gold.
“We will be drilling a range of highly prospective gold targets across the project and we look forward to keeping the market updated on our progress in the coming months,” Delaney says.
The Bousquet Project lies 30km east of the Rouyn-Noranda gold-copper mining centre and 15km west of the Bousquet Mining Camp, which includes the more than 15 million ounce gold La Ronde and 2.4 million ounce gold Westwood working mines.
Olympio Metals is an Australian mineral explorer focused on the discovery and development of critical minerals projects. The company has a portfolio of projects in Australia and Canada considered prospective for gold, copper and rare earths.
