OD6 Metals acquires ‘rare’ historical dataset for Quinn drilling

OD6 Metals (ASX:OD6) has secured a historical dataset at the Quinn Fluorspar Project in Nevada comprising prior drilling and metallurgical testing data.

The dataset was acquired from Union Carbide at a nominal price, in contrast to an estimated replacement cost of more than $1 million at current market rates.

OD6 will review and examine the dataset before using it. The company says the data will provide a “critical foundation” for drill planning at the project, with the intention of upgrading the data to a JORC-compliant resource.

The JORC Code is a professional reporting standard used by ASX-listed mining companies. Maintained by the Joint Ore Reserves Committee, it sets minimum standards for reporting of exploration results, mineral resources, and ore reserves, as reported.

Managing Director Brett Hazelden says the acquisition of data will accelerate drilling and resource definition at the project.

“Securing a dataset of this scale and quality for a nominal cost substantially reduces our exploration timeline, capital requirements, and overall project risk, making this a compelling outcome for our shareholders,” Hazelden says.

“To have secured records of this calibre is a testament to the strength of the company’s in-country networks.

“Historical datasets of this nature are rarely available and provide an invaluable blueprint for targeting ultra-high-grade fluorspar mineralisation within the Quinn system.

“With the United States currently 100% reliant on fluorspar imports, Quinn represents a strategically positioned project, and this dataset strengthens our ability to unlock the potential for new discoveries beyond historic workings.”

OD6 Metals is an exploration and development company focused on rare earths, copper, and fluorspar projects.
