Mineral and resources exploration company Octava Minerals (ASX:OCT) reports it has identified additional pegmatites following field reconnaissance activities at its Pinnacle Well Lithium prospect, as part of its Talga Project in Western Australia (WA).
The results, generated by earlier mapping and pXRF analysis of soil samples, have confirmed the presence of a pegmatite that is about 1.5km in length and running on an east-west trend at the project’s Pinnacle Well prospect.
It reports this pegmatite was identified where lithium (Li2O) mineralisation was previously recorded and about 10km to the north of the Archer Li2O Deposit, which currently boasts a Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) of 10.5Mt at 1.0% Li2O).

In addition, multiple newly discovered pegmatites, including a northwest striking pegmatite with visible Li2O minerals, were also observed at Pinnacle Well prospect and are considered by the company to be highly prospective and warrant further investigation.
Speaking on the discovery, Octava Minerals Managing Director, Bevan Wakelam says: “Getting the Octava team on the ground conducting field reconnaissance over the priority lithium targets identified continues the systematic approach we are taking to the large Talga project holding.
“We were pleased to observe the sizeable pegmatite at Pinnacle Well, but also the multiple NW striking pegmatites nearby”
We were pleased to observe the sizeable pegmatite at Pinnacle Well, but also the multiple NW striking pegmatites nearby that appear to be part of much larger structural features at Talga.”
The company also notes that a number of northwest trending pegmatites observed at the prospect are believed to be part of much larger linear features identified from earlier remote sensing work.

These linear features have the potential to be kilometres in length and are considered by the company to be highly prospective.
Meanwhile, the company reports it has completed an on-ground component of its heritage survey over the Pinnacle Well prospect in collaboration with the Nyamal people, which was conducted to ensure the land is ready to move to drill testing stage.
The final report of the on-ground component of the heritage survey is currently pending.
Octava Minerals is an ASX-listed mineral and resources exploration company that currently boasts a portfolio of interests in highly prospective properties in WA. The company’s Talga project is located about 30km to the northwest of Marble Bar in WA’s East Pilbara region and covers a total land area of about 211km-square.
The project comprises about 8 granted exploration licences, of which Octava owns 100% interest in 2 of the licences and is currently farming into up to 80% of the remaining 6 tenements held by ASX-listed First Au (ASX:FAU).
With the priority exploration work at the Talga project advancing towards a drill-ready status, Octava Minerals announces it remains focused on completing the initial field reconnaissance of priority Li2O targets ahead of a planned drilling program.
