Nordic Resources (ASX:NNL) has expanded the Angesneva gold deposit to the north, with two drill holes returning wide, ‘high-grade’ intersections outside the existing resource boundary.
The company completed 459m of diamond drilling at Angesneva, which currently hosts 147,000 ounces of indicated gold resources.
Angesneva sits within the Kiimala Trend Project, located 40km north of Nordic’s flagship Kopsa gold-copper project in Finland’s Middle Ostrobothnia Gold Belt.
Infill hole NRANG26001 was drilled near the central part of the resource, confirming historical results and strong copper and silver mineralisation.
NRANG26001 returned 84m @ 1.07 grams per tonne gold, 0.11% copper, and 3.00g/t silver from 52m, including 6m @ 4.29g/t gold, 0.27% copper, and 9.00g/t silver from 93m.
The second hole, NRANG26002, was drilled 10–25m north of the existing resource to test for strike extensions.
Drilling successfully intersected mineralisation outside the resource block, returning 70m @ 1.34g/t gold, 0.18% copper, and 4.00g/t silver from 202m, including 21m at 2.23g/t gold, 0.25% copper, and 7.00g/t silver from 218m.
“These new drill results show unexpectedly strong gold potential along strike to the north of Angesneva and the ability to grow the overall metal endowment within the resource, with contributions from copper and silver,” Nordic Resources Executive Director Robert Wrixon says.
The company plans to re-assay available historical core to infill the copper and silver databases, which were excluded from prior resource calculations.
Nordic plans to update the JORC-compliant resource for Angesneva later in 2026 and conduct further drilling in the second half of the year.
Angesneva currently holds 3.85 million tonnes @ 1.19g/t indicated gold for 147,000oz.
Combined with Kopsa and Hirsikangas, Nordic’s three Middle Ostrobothnia projects host 34.3Mt @ 1.11g/t gold equivalent for 1.23 million ounces, with 66% measured and indicated.
