Noble Plains Uranium (TSX-V:NOBL) has started a geophysical program at its Duck Creek property in Wyoming, US to detect buried uranium mineralisation.
The program targets shallow Wasatch formation and deeper Fort Union formation uranium deposits.
Duck Creek hosts a national instrument 43-101-compliant resource of 5.32 million indicated and 1.04 million inferred pounds of triuranium octoxide in the Wasatch formation.
In partnership with the University of Wyoming’s Near-Surface Geophysics Instrument Center (UWNSG), the company is conducting seismic reflection and induced polarisation surveys to identify mineralised roll-front noses for improved drill targeting.
CEO Drew Zimmerman says: “Our maiden resource at Duck Creek was built from roughly 2.5 miles [4km] of a mineralised trend that runs approximately 5.25 miles across our land package.”
“That leaves close to 2.75 miles of that same trend, plus the deeper Fort Union formation beneath it, still largely untested.
“These geophysical surveys will help us identify mineralised roll-front noses for sharper drill targeting across the project, part of a systematic strategy to continue building out the pounds at Duck Creek.”
Data gathered will guide near-term drill targeting and longer-term extraction planning.
