Nine Mile Metals (CSE:NINE) Vice President of Exploration Gary Lohman says the return of phase three x-ray fluorescence (XRF) samples at the Wedge Project in New Brunswick, Canada have continued to “display exceptional copper results”.
Highlights returned from volcanogenic massive sulphide mineralisation ore samples include up to 26.14% copper and 1.03% antimony from sample 280461.
The company collected 18 ore samples, with nine of which returning 14.22% copper or higher in this campaign.
Nine Mile says these are the first samples collected with visible covellite – typically uncovered in copper sulphide deposits with secondary enrichment.
“In this suite of samples, the presence of covellite in select samples, had a direct effect on the copper grade as demonstrated by the results,” Lohman adds.
“The XRF results also returned 1.03% antimony, an element previously not found in abundance at the Wedge.
“High arsenic was present, both elements generally found associated with gold mineralisation.”
Samples have been shipped to Actlabs in Fredericton, New Brunswick for analysis.
With technical interpretation and drill planning by Mike Defresne at Apex Geoscience and Nine Mile Metals technical advisory member, several holes are designed to test the two identified Len’s and the western deposit at depth.
