Nine Mile Metals (CSE:NINE) will begin a 10,000m drilling campaign at the Wedge mine and Tribag–West Wedge targets within the Bathurst Mining Camp in New Brunswick, Canada, following a summary from last year’s program.
The company completed its phase two five-hole drill program in December 2025, targeting the southwestern portion of the Wedge Mine.
Drilling intersected volcanogenic massive sulphides, including copper, lead, zinc, gold, and silver mineralisation.
Nine Mile followed up on this program with two additional holes drilled to depth from the northwest for borehole electromagnetic (BHEM) surveying. The two holes totalled 1,654m.
Drilling at the Wedge Mine intersected a new copper-rich volcanogenic massive sulphide lens within a section of ground and broken core. This discovery resulted in terminating the drilling in mineralisation due to water loss downhole.
Hole WD-25-02 returned the best intersection from this program with 22.5m @ 61.57 grams per tonne silver and 1.01g/t gold.
BHEM surveying is planned at Wedge to identify and expand mineralisation, targeting to the west and at depth.
The New Brunswick team is on-site at the project for upcoming drilling, with APEX Geoscience President Michael Dufresne and the technical team joining at the end of May to launch phase three drilling.
Vice President of Exploration Gary Lohman says last year’s drilling campaign was “highly successful” due to its contribution in intersecting copper mineralisation in all drill holes, along with another new high-grade copper zone.
“When drilling a deposit, all holes are important due to the distribution and variation of mineralisation within the system,” Lohman says.
“Each drillhole tells a piece of the puzzle and paints the deposit picture.
“The success of this drill program has enabled our technical team to 3D-model all drillholes that intersected in the previous Wedge Eastern Extension new zone, the newly completed Southwest Zones, and all the historical Cominco drill data, into a living 3D model.
“This helps define the remaining deposit area and forecast the new drill areas to target the new copper-rich lens and the entire western extension of the deposit.”
CEO Patrick Cruickshank says the company is looking forward to announcing the upcoming drilling campaign.
“Due to the late snowfall this past spring, the government has extended the heavy equipment ban on the BMC roads until the last week of May,” Cruickshank says.
“The permits are in hand, targets defined, and rigs ordered and committed. This year will be a very busy drill season for us at Nine Mile Metals.”
