Nine Mile Metals (CSE:NINE) has announced the completion of DDH WD-26-01, with logging identifying two new massive sulphide zones, including a new zone at depth.
DDH WD-26-01 successfully intersected base metal sulphides, pyrite, and chalcopyrite mineralisation between 34.6m and 164.32m, with two distinct zones of visible copper-bearing volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) mineralisation. The lower section is accompanied by visible sphalerite and galena.
The hole was collared in the north end and drilled at an azimuth of 155 degrees, with a dip of -50 degrees to a total depth of 202m. It intersected siliceous volcanics before entering a series of banded sediments. Nine Mile reports the presence of local pyrite +/- chalcopyrite commencing at 34.6m, with visible copper increasing from around 119.5m and sulphide mineralisation intensifying to 147.55m.
Nine Mile reports intercalated sediments, volcanics, and breccia between 147.55 and 153.02m, with visible coarse chalcopyrite mineralisation to 160.98m, accompanied by minor sphalerite and galena.
At 160.98m, the company notes massive pyritic VMS mineralisation that continues to 164.32m, confirmed by X-ray fluorescence analysis, which also identified copper, zinc, and lead.
The company notes that the copper mineralisation is characterised by the presence of coarse-grained, visible chalcopyrite throughout.
VP of Exploration Gary Lohmann says that the drill results “continue to impress, with coarse-grained chalcopyrite and massive VMS mineralisation demonstrating the robust nature of the Wedge.”
In addition to the drill results, Nine Mile has also announced the appointment of Art Hamilton to the team.
Hamilton is an experienced geologist whose career has focused predominantly on the Bathurst Camp.
