Nine Mile hits new copper-rich horizon at Wedge

Nine Mile Metals (CSE:NINE) has completed drillhole DDH-WD-26-02 at the Wedge Mine Project in Canada, discovering a new copper-rich volcanic massive sulphide (VMS) horizon.

The hole intersected base metal sulphides, pyrite, and chalcopyrite mineralisation between 39.20m and 273.35m, with two distinct horizons of visible copper-bearing VMS mineralisation, the lower of which represents a new copper-rich VMS horizon at depth.

Vice President of Exploration Gary Lohman says drilling continues to intersect massive and semi-massive copper-bearing mineralisation.

“The new horizon at depth is a welcome surprise confirming the robust nature of the Wedge,” Lohman says.

CEO and Director Patrick Cruickshank adds that the company continues to demonstrate the existence of a large copper-dominant system at Wedge.

“We were pleased to have both Apex Geoscience and Jim Walker to share technical expertise and advise on the current drill program, both onsite and in the core shack,” Cruickshank says.

“We look forward to sharing our certified results and our next hole summary. This drill season will be a defining one for our company, and it has started off very successfully on the heels of last fall’s program.”
