Nine Mile Metals (CSE:NINE) has mobilised a drill rig for the upcoming 10,000m drilling program at the Wedge Copper Project in Canada.
The phase three program will be specifically focusing on the newly discovered zones and will target the western flank of the deposit from the other side of the fault zone where water was lost last year, as the company entered a ‘high-grade’ copper zone within target two.
APEX Geoscience technical advisor Mike Dufresne and the team will be onsite from 1 June for a complete site visit of all four projects, including Nine Mile Brook — a priority for the Canadian fall of 2026.
Vice President of Exploration Gary Lohman says with previous mining and exploration limited to the upper portion of the deposit, this series of drill holes will expand the mineralised footprint, adding to the resource.
“All drill holes will be capped on completion to facilitate downhole geophysics or revisit to extend the holes, which, along with the cross-section drill results, assist in resource 3D modelling and future exploration planning,” Lohman says.
CEO Patrick Cruickshank adds that the priority will be to test the deposit from the western side, targeting the new copper-silver-gold lens identified in the last drill program.
