Nine Mile Metals (CSE:NINE) has secured a C$40,000 ($45,017) grant from the New Brunswick Department of Natural Resources and Energy Development for continued exploration on the California Lake East Project in Canada.
The company plans to conduct exploration along the stratigraphic horizon and electromagnetic strong late time conductors, delineated by EarthEx. Ground-based geophysics will be carried out to define the prioritised drilling targets.
Nine Mile says Apex Geoscience will be integral in planning the ground-based options including fixed and moving loop electromagnetics.
The decision on the best way forward will come after all of the historical drillholes have been compiled, as well as all recent results have been received.
Vice President of Exploration Gary Lohman says the team will continue to develop the California Lake East volcanic massive sulphide (VMS) trend and test target six, which is the potential source of the trend.
“We will track the trend mineralisation from our drill program area at target eight, expanding the VMS mineralisation to the south, along the strong conductive trend, that leads to high-priority target six,” Lohman says.
“Target six is an untested newly identified high-priority target. Our technical team looks forward to commencing this project of high importance for Nine Mile Metals.”
In April 2024, Nine Mile submitted a proposal to the Department of Natural Resources and Energy Development Junior Mining Assistance Program for specific exploration on California Lake East.
Each year, the Junior Mining Assistance Program provides funding for the advancement of selected projects that meet their criteria of high interest to the advancement of the camp.
The California Lake East VMS Project, covering 35.83km2, is prospective for copper, lead, zinc, silver, and gold. The project is located in New Brunswick, Canada.
