Nine Mile Metals (CSE:NINE) Vice President of Exploration Gary Lohman says the company is looking at expanding the footprint of the Wedge deposit in Canada, after receiving sample results which returned up to 17.41% copper.
A phase two x-ray fluorescence sampling program was conducted on the Wedge Volcanogenic-Massive Sulphide Project, with 16 samples returning 4% copper or higher, while 24 samples returned 3% copper or higher.
Nine Mile says the samples were massive, ore grade, fine-grained VMS mineralisation collected at the upcoming drilling area within the project.
Lohman says in addition to confirming copper-gold mineralisation, the drillholes are also designed to step out to the west to determine the extent and depth of the deposit.

“Although regarded as a predominantly copper-rich deposit, the polymetallic nature of the mineralisation cannot be ignored when all assay results are incorporated into the model,” he says.
“With the success of our 2024 fall drill program adding to the Wedge deposit tonnage, the focus is now on determining the original mine residual and the new western extension and trend to the TriBag and West Wedge targets.”
In September 2025, Nine Mile received rock samples taken from Wedge, which returned up to 18.27% copper.
As previously reported, the company is targeting a copper-rich area to the west and an unexplored depth extension below 150m, where mineralisation is expected to extend to a minimum depth of 300m.
Nine Mile Metals is a Canadian mineral explorer focused on its four projects in the Bathurst Mining Camp district in New Brunswick, Canada.
