Nexus Uranium (CSE:NEXU) has secured the Deadhorse Uranium Project in South Dakota via staking, which reinforces the company’s thesis that the lands surrounding the Chord Project host uranium exploration potential.
The Deadhorse Project, covering 340 acres, is located within three miles of the company’s flagship Chord Project in Fall River County. The acquisition consolidates Nexus’ land position in a historical uranium district and advances its goal of building a standalone in-situ recovery project.
CEO Jeremy Poirier says with nuclear energy firmly established as a critical component of the clean energy transition, the US faces a structural supply deficit – importing 90% of its uranium requirement.
“By systematically expanding our footprint in South Dakota, we are positioning Chord to be a standalone uranium project to contribute to domestic supply security,” Poirier says.
Nexus Uranium is a Canadian explorer focused primarily on uranium discoveries in North America.
