New Murchison Gold (ASX:NMG) has sent off the first gold bearing ore from the Crown Prince Gold Mine to Westgold Resources’ (ASX:WGX) Bluebird gold processing facility, located 36km south of the mine.
The 10,000 tonne parcel of product has been crushed, assayed, and stockpiled at Crown Prince.
New Murchison, which has a market capitalisation of $258.94 million, says this major milestone sees the evolution of the company into a gold producer following the decision to develop Crown Prince in late June 2025.
The company anticipates to ramp up to its target of 40,000 tonnes of ore per month run-rate during September and October 2025.
CEO Alex Passmore says after executing an ore purchase agreement in December 2024, New Murchison is pleased to bring the mine into production at record Australian gold prices.
“We look forward to further growth from both Crown Prince Mine and the company’s regional portfolio,” Passmore says.
Gold’s spot price sat at $5,490 per ounce at 9.35am AEST today, as reported by ABC Bullion.
Westgold CEO Wayne Bramwell says in providing a processing solution for Crown Prince, the company has expedited New Murchison from explorer to producer.
“This is a capital efficient template for what can be achieved when a major mining company and a dynamic junior explorer cooperate, not compete,” Bramwell says.
New Murchison Gold is a mineral explorer and gold mining company which holds a substantial package of tenements in the Murchison goldfield near Meekatharra, Western Australia.
