New chief executive steps up at Apollo Silver

Apollo Silver (TSX-V:APGO) has appointed Colin Sutherland as chief executive officer following Ross McElroy’s resignation from the role.

The company confirms McElroy stepped down as chief executive officer and resigned from the company’s board of directors on 15 July. Sutherland assumed the role the same day but is not joining the board at this time.

Sutherland brings more than 20 years of international experience in mining finance, capital markets, and operations. He has held senior roles with Capital Gold, Nayarit Gold, and McEwen Mining (NYSE:MUX) across projects in the Americas and globally.

Executive chair Tom Peregooduff thanked McElroy for his leadership and contributions in advancing Apollo Silver’s projects.

Ross leaves the company well positioned for its next phase of growth and we wish him well in his future endeavours,” Peregooduff says.

Sutherland says the company is at an important stage in its growth.

“Apollo Silver holds one of the largest undeveloped primary silver assets in the US, together with a high-quality option on the Cinco de Mayo Project in Mexico,” Sutherland says.

“I look forward to working with the board, management, and shareholders to advance these assets and build long-term value.”

Apollo Silver is advancing the Calico Silver Project in the US, which the company describes as the second-largest undeveloped primary silver project in the country. The company also holds an option on the Cinco de Mayo Project in Chihuahua, Mexico.

Apollo Silver is a mineral explorer focused on primary silver assets in North America.
