Nevada Organic Phosphate (CSE:NOP) CEO Robin Dow says the company is building data to form the foundation of its next decisions, after receiving preliminary drill hole observations at the Murdock Mountain Project in Nevada.
Drill hole MM26-9 was drilled vertically to a depth of 146.93m. The drill collar is positioned 100m north and upslope from last fall’s drill hole MM25-6. The hole intersected an apparent 42.15m of the Meade Peak unit.
True thickness and the phosphate content of the Upper Phosphatic Zone will be confirmed by assay.
Meanwhile, hole MM26-8 intersected an apparent 15.3m of the Meade Peak unit, which is only half of what was predicted. No significant phosphorus oxide assays were reported.
Director Garry Smith says while hole MM26-8 did not return any significant values, this outcome is not unusual in stratiform systems where local thinning, structural offsets, or facies changes can influence the expression of the Upper Phosphatic Zone.
“Our team is reviewing several plausible geological interpretations to understand the controls on this weaker interval,” Smith says.
“Importantly, MM26-9, drilled further along strike to the southwest, intersected a strong 42.15m of Meade Peak, reinforcing the continuity we are working to define across the trend.
“We therefore believe the poor result from MM26-8 is a local, small-scale anomaly. Each hole adds valuable information, and the overall dataset continues to support our technical understanding of the target horizon.”
