MRG Metals’ (ASX:MRG) Mozambique Heavy Mineral Sands Joint Venture with Sinowin Lithium and Sinowin Lithium Cobalt, has signed a contract with MOSHAQ Limitada for the environmental and social impact assessment and resettlement action plan for the Corridor Sands Project in Mozambique, East Africa.
The Corridor Sands Project includes two contiguous tenements containing 13 high-priority targets. The central project covers 179km2, while the south project covers 208km2.
The contract, which will run for nine months, has a value of US$500,000 ($749,870).
MRG, which has a market capitalisation of $9.54 million, says the joint venture will be responsible for contract payments with the terms requiring installments by the JV, which is fully funded by Sinowin Lithium and Sinowin Lithium Cobalt.
Chairman Andrew Van Der Zwan says the contract is pivotal for advancing the formal mine approval process, which is expected to begin early in the contract period.
“MOZSHAQ’s expertise in environmental and socio-economic assessments will be invaluable as we progress towards the mining licence approval,” he says.
“We are confident their local knowledge and adherence to international standards will ensure the highest quality outcomes for this project.
