Morella launches Tabba Tabba East phase one drilling

Morella Corporation (ASX:1MC) has begun the first phase of drilling at the Tabba Tabba East Project in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

Tabba Tabba East forms part of a joint venture between Morella, which holds 51%, and Sayona Mining (ASX:SYA), which holds the remaining 49%.

Drilling will comprise 15 reverse circulation drillholes for 1,500m. The company plans to expand the program based on initial findings from phase one, with the aim to continue evaluating in the second half of 2024.

Morella, which has a market capitalisation of $18.54 million, says the main focus of drilling will follow the major fault structure that runs south of the main shear zone hosting the Wildcat discovery.

The company adds it will also focus on areas determined from soil sampling results, with the aim to test areas prospective for lithium soil anomaly and underlying faults and structures.

Prior to starting drilling, Morella conducted a heritage survey within specific areas in the Tabba Tabba East tenement. Some minor heritage sites were identified during the survey and excluded from the drilling area.

The drillholes for the current program are all targeted within the areas of the survey.

Morella Corporation is an explorer and resource developer focused on lithium and battery minerals. The company has projects in Australia and the US.
