Miramar Resources encounters ‘high-grade’ gold from step-out diamond drillhole at Glandore East Project, WA

Active mineral exploration company Miramar Resources (ASX:M2R) reports it has encountered further ‘high-grade’ gold (Au) mineralisation following an initial diamond drilling (DD) campaign at its Glandore East Project in Western Australia’s Eastern Goldfields.

The results, generated by step-out drillhole GDDD004, have confirmed the presence of ‘high-grade’ Au mineralisation over a strike length of about 240m, with mineralisation remaining open along strike and at depth.

Key intercepts include 0.8m at 12.6g/t Au including 0.4m at 23.0g/t Au.

Addressing the results, Miramar Resources’ Executive Chairman, Allan Kelly says: “The new results are extremely ‘significant’ as they have substantially increased the strike length of ‘high-grade’ bedrock gold mineralisation intersected to date.

“The new results are extremely ‘significant’ as they have substantially increased the strike length of ‘high-grade’ bedrock gold mineralisation intersected to date”

In addition, the news results also reinforce the strong relationship between the shallow aircore intersections and deeper ‘high-grade’ bedrock gold mineralisation.

The aircore gold footprint at Glandore East stretches for well over a kilometre, but we have only tested a small portion of the total strike length with deeper drilling so far.”

The company also notes that the ‘high-grade’ bedrock Au mineralisation occurs 50m below a zone of supergene Au mineralisation that was intersected in historic aircore (AC) drilling and 150m north of historical ‘high-grade’ diamond drill intersections.

Identified mineralisation is reported to be present within a strongly sheared and altered felsic porphyry intrusion towards the eastern contact of the Glandore granodiorite unit, with very coarse pyrite crystals.

In addition, the company reports it is considering completing a more detailed ground and/or UAV magnetic survey in order to help refine the multiple, northeast trending and potentially mineralised structures at the contact between the granodiorite and the mafic units.

Miramar Resources is a Western Australian focused mineral exploration company that currently boasts a portfolio of exploration projects in the states Eastern Goldfields, Murchison and Gascoyne regions. The company’s Glandore project is located about 40km east of the township of Kalgoorlie and covers a land area of 42km-square, which comprises 10 prospecting licences and 1 exploration licence. Miramar Resources controls 100% interest in all associated tenements and purchased the project as part of the 2020 IPO.

With the DD campaign at the Glandore project now complete, Miramar Resources announces further drilling will be planned once all results are received and interpreted.
